97% has been published where, exactly ?
If you did not know, there's hundreds of peer review journals. "Published" means peer review...not a textbook.
There are plenty of peer reviewed journals which do NOT agree with these honorable men of science.
Science is short for the scientific method. If one can not question it, then it's not science.
"The Science" is yet another rhetorical phrase, designed to get the population conditioned into lockstep.
The scientific method is a repeatable process. It's not the destination. "The Science" does not change...but political alliances do; who pays the bills does. The method itself remains consistent.
"The Science" is one of those New Age phrases designed to tangle and ensare the population, with a false appeal to authority.
The Science is another business, like all human pursuits. It started out with good intentions. Yet, pure research itself does not seem to pay the bills. Pure research, without appeal to an application, does not get funding. This is a very real concern, for scientist.
Laboratories have bills too. Labs too have to justify their existence. Money makes the world go round.
In order for a scientist to keep working in the industry, s/he needs to get published. There are thousands of trade, and peer-review journals. That 97% published agree, simply means this is there the gravy train goes.

I was taught in school that TRUE science, takes into consideration the opposing viewpoint. True science acknowledges truth where it is. A blanket dismissal of the opposing view is a sure sign that the complete research has been done.
Is a "misleading petition" work that's been publish, which you disagree with?
I grew-up in the 1980's. I recall the back-burner discussions about "global warming". I recall the theory that by the year 2000, there would be no ice caps. We were told then that at the rate it's progressing, there was only going to be a dusty, dry planet.
Global warming as a theory never explained what's going to happen to all the water that's allegedly going to dry up. The theory never explain, as far as I can recall, what's going to happen to all that water? We know the water doesn't disappear, right? Yet, global warming theories don't know how to account for this actual reality.
Then, in the Early 2000's, when it did not get hot enough across the entire globe, they changed the name to "climate change." This expanded the cause, as even-more human made destruction, and releasing of carbon into the atmosphere. Turns-out, trees and plants love carbon.
Climate change model insists that the warm air drives the cold fronts. I was told in 8th grade that cold air is denser than warm air. How is it remotely possible for the warm, fluffy air, to move dense, compact cold air? The analogy is a hockey player against a basketball player. The dense, more compact player is going through the taller, more lightweight opponent.
It does not happen in actual factual, but the model-makers in their offices will "factor-out" the real-Earth realities, such as cold air is denser. The models will prove that the Entire globe is warming, despite increased record cold, and record snowfalls. After all, snowfall is not an indicator of cold, but of heat. Enough heat, and you'll get snow--at least according to the factoring and models.
Record colds, and record snowfalls are two real-life, real world facts that are getting "factored-out" in the models, to allow for more heat.
To me, it's obvious that the planet's climate is shifting. I could feel this growing up, how the seasons were shifting. The cold comes later into the year, and lasts longer into the next year. The position of the sun is shifting. Additionally, the Earth's magnetic field is shifting, and weakening, as shown by objective measurements.
The problem that the "climate change" is having is that the observable data, the real-life actual facts are not lining-up to what the model says should be happening.
